Labour Only Care About The North

If you’re in the South, Labour don’t give a shit about you. Not only do they have a massive Northern bias in the Cabinet, they want to help their chums oop North at the expense of us in the South:

Nick Brown, the Chief Whip, called yesterday for the North East to be exempted from the Government’s controversial tax on empty commercial buildings. However, Mr Brown, who is also Minister for the North East, said that the tax was appropriate for London and the South East. (The Times)

So only the businesses and people in the North need and/or ‘deserve’ tax relief in the middle of a recession? That’s like saying only Labour supporters want the recession to end at all. Utter bollocks, in other words.

Labour only care abour channelling money to their supporters. This has been evident over the past eleven years. It is entirely unacceptable. [But then again, even the North might be going blue come the next general election...]

Nick Brown should be severly rebuked by Gordon Brown for making such a ridiculous statement. However, as he is Chief Whip and an ardent Brownite we can but presume that Gordon Brown is smiling on this.

Brown should act as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, not just of the areas where Labour have their voters, or he should resign.

Nick Brown is an un elected regional minister. If you remember it was the North East that voted NO to the regionalisation of England. They told New Labour to feck off. New Labour would love to set off disputes between their English regional fiefdoms to take the heat off Scotland.
It seems that with you they have succeeded.

Nick Brown is an elected MP.

And my article very clearly states that it is Labour who want to do this, not anyone in the North.

He is an elected MP but posing as a first minister of the NE region that voted NO to being a region. He is doing what he’d doing, and the rest of these unelected regional ministers will pop up and do the same, to try and gain local support for the abolition of England.

He has a government position as “Minister of the North East”. That isn’t a position to which anyone can be directly elected. We don’t choose who is Home Secretary, Chancellor, Foreign Secretary – or even Prime Minister.

England must be divided into regions for some things, the difference is that they should not be separated from England as part of an electoral body.

  • Maria said:

But why is there this “must” about England being divided into regions, Thunder Dragon? The North East voted NO by 78% to such regionalisation and nowhere else in England was given a say, As England was traditionally counties, shouldn’t the electorate in England be allowed a say in any alternative forms of sub-national government?

These regions are being foisted onto England by the NulLab project.

Administrative purposes, shorthand, things like that only.
