I am not saying he shouldn’t say sorry or that he does bear some of the blame. I am just saying it is very rich of the Tories to demand an apology when they themselves would have done no different – in fact they demanded MORE deregulation. All this talk of saying sorry is a smokescreen – what is important is what he does now. If he cocks up the rescue package, that would be grounds for not only an apology but also losing an election.
