Christmas Number One this year is very different to the past four years. The X Factor winner has not won the chart battle, but the “anyone-but” candidate has sold more.
I didn’t participate in the so-called revolution or example of “people power” for one good reason: I preferred Joe McElderry’s song “The Climb” to Rage Against The Machine’s “Killing In The Name”. It’s a better song – even though I didn’t buy that one either.
I think it’s pretty ridiculous to set up this sort of petty campaign just to oppose Simon …

The Children in Need song this year is actually pretty weird to watch – many kids TV characters in one video! It takes me back to days long gone. It’s a pity they couldn’t have got some more retro characters such as Super Ted or Bananaman in there, though!

How long will it be before someone with video editing skills will merge this song and Osborne’s conference speech? Maybe Tory Bear should get a move on, as he’s very good at this kind of thing…

Hip-hop artists have even started to taunt each other over the trend, as they increasingly turn to cheaper metals or fake reproductions, according to the Wall Street Journal. (The Telegraph)

Just hilarious!

I was just sat sitting having breakfast wondering what topic I could jabber on about this week. Then, on SOTS (yes, I’m old before my time) I heard Jon Pertwee (out of off of Doctor Who and Worzel Gummidge) sing his version of this:

I’m sure everyone knows similar songs. Nonsense songs that we knew in full in our youth. Songs that were probably popular in Junior Choice (which was before my time too). Just think, if it wasn’t for Stewpot, would we all know the lyrics to Ernie?
But where …

This has to be pretty much the most out-of-the-blue headlines ever penned:

Putin denies dancing to Abba hits

Because apparently Putin flew ABBA tribute band “Bjorn Again” out to Russia to perform a private gig, and “was dancing along in his seat to Super Trouper and raised his hands in the air during Mamma Mia”. Yet Putin is denying it ever happened because he wants to maintain his macho image.
What’s he got to be so protective about? There’s nothing wrong with liking some ABBA hits. And, if he’s so concerned about people …
