Now:
In a blow to the pride taken by Italy’s police in their two most glamorous patrol vehicles, one of the cars was clipped by a Seat as the more modest car was edging its way out of a petrol station near Cremona.
The impact sent the exotic police car flying into a line of parked cars. (The Telegraph)

The Police are asking people to provide a DNA sample in order to rule them out of an investigation into a rape and murder case.
I would be surprised if many people would be willing to give their DNA to the police, despite the seriousness of the crime. Simply because of the DNA database and the lack of any requirement for DNA of innocent people to be removed.
If I was asked to give my DNA to the police on a voluntary basis, I would refuse. They do not have the right …

This is an illustration of why I no longer trust the police. Here a man is seen being attacked for absoutely no reason, with no apparant provocation.
In fact, he was attacked whilst walking away from police with his hands in his pockets. At best, this was unnecessary, at worst manslaughter since this man later collapsed and died.
And the police also lied, originally stating that they had tried to help him, but the crowd had not allowed them to. The video shows a very different story.
Alone, this would not cause me …

Police Community Support Officers really are useless. Not only do they do such a little amount of actual crime detection as to make them pointless, they don’t even give out many fixed penalty notices.
Worse than that, PCSOs also account for a hugely large number of gross misconduct cases – one half of all cases, despite making up only a fifth of the workforce.
Why on earth do we have PCSOs? They have no powers, and don’t control crime, or even obey the law themselves. They are policing on the cheap. Let’s …

Plastic Policemen, PCSOs, have now been proven to be pointless. They detect less than one crime every four years, and give out less than 1.5 fixed penalty notices each year.
What the hell are paying these people for? Absolutely bugger all it seems. They can’t even actually do anything useful like arrest someone. So why has their number doubled over the past two years to nearly 16,000 and the number of real police has fallen by nearly 1,500?
What exactly do PCSOs do and why can’t we just get some real police …

Bob Quick, Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner in charge of specialist operations and counter-terrorism, accused the Conservative Party of creating a nespaper story that he claims put his family at risk. And now he has had to retract the allegations and apologise unreservedly after David Cameron completely rejected the claims and stated categorically that the Conservative party had had nothing to do with it.
But what now? Quick has apologised; surely that should be the end of it? Well… no.
Considering Quick’s position and specific role in the police force, as head of …

Are the police going to charge Damian Green “aiding and abetting misconduct in public office”?
Yet the News of the World claims that Green is “in the clear”:
TORY MP Damian Green and his Home Office mole will NOT be charged in the leak scandal, the News of the World can reveal.
Prosecutors say papers seized from Mr Green’s Commons office cannot be used as evidence in a trial.
They add that cops FAILED to conduct a proper search in Westminster.
Yet the Telegraph says that Scotland Yard is determined to “motor on”:
senior officers met …

What is the job of an Opposition MP? To hold the government to account. And this applies double to a shadow minister. So why was Damian Green arrested – and arrested under counter-terrorism laws?
His supposed crime is “aiding and abetting misconduct in public office,” by which we can translate into English as “receiving leaks from civil servants”. But it’s not like this is (a) a new thing, or (b) that only civil servants leak – after all, the ship of state is the only ship that leaks from the top…

The National Black Police Association invited the wrong David Davis to speak at their conference. They had wanted former shadow home secretary David Davis, but instead invited David Davies, another Conservative MP with an interest in law and order (being a member of the home affairs select committee and a special constable).
And a speech they didn’t expect to receive:
To me, it’s a shame membership of the NBPA is open only to those of black, Asian or Middle Eastern origin.
It could be argued that this is explictly racist, in that it …
